Formation of new structural openings within the existing slabs of Level 12,13,14 & 15 for the client’s new feature staircase.
The works comprised of the installation of steel plate girder trimming beams weighing over 25 tonnes of steel on each floor. The main steel trimmer was 16m long and was spliced 5 times (with each splice weighing approx. 1 tonne) to enable us to transport to the required floor via a small goods lift. Once the steel had been installed, we demolished the existing metal deck slab creating the curved shape the staircase contractor required.
